Well, the busy weekend is over…

Back down to reality… The effects of a busy week…stress…exams… what happens when you try to do too much in a short period of time…

Yes, that’s what I attempted to do. The outcome? Ill, tired, tired and tired. Let’s see….On saturday I went to church at 11am for Colours of the Rainbow practice… mp3plus was practising… their bassist had this really interesting bass, it was as small as a violin (although much longer), didn’t have any tuning pegs at the usual end.. It was REALLY tiny…then at 1.30pm I went over to my music school for group class…. I wanted to sleep during class…..but oh wellll.. anyway I didn’t sleep in the end… wink

Back to church at 3.30pm, but I didn’t really do much over there, basically I just helped out a bit in the sunday practice, and had some fun with the lights (they installed 16 lights, 2 light effects and 2 smoke machines for the concert). Yeah, blinded all of those on stage….muahahahahaha laughing. After the practice I just hung around with Ruth and Ewe Jin, they played some really silly computer games and I tried putting pitch shift effect through the mixer, so all the computer game sounds were coming out like one octave above normal, or one octave below. It was quite fun…hehe…

Went for orchestra practice at 6pm, prepared for the concert on the next day. I only got my score for ‘A Whole New World’ at this practice- a mere day before the event itself!! Dunno how I managed to do it. And what’s more, when I left, I was asked to leave my scores there so that the pianist who would be taking over me (I left early) would be able to continue… So, no scores…

I got back to church and the stage crew (me, Ewe Jin, Ruth, Chris and Sam) discussed the ‘game plan’, as we called it (I called it the ‘war plan’). We rushed the planning, there wasn’t much time to do any serious planning, and then the show got underway.

We worked in darkness. I was in the amp room, and the curtain was really irritating – it would be blown into the amp room because of the air pressure. So we taped it to a chair so it wouldn’t move so much, but in the end I think we just forgot it because of the sheer mass of people going in and out of the room.

So, we listened from backstage, there wasn’t much to do during the band. Then after the band we had to clear up the WHOLE stage within 20 seconds, but we managed to do it… just in time. After that we went to the back of the stage to watch until the intermission. It was quite fun, basically.

During the intermission the stage crew prepared the condensor mics for the string quartet, and then backstage again. Oh yeah, we also moved the drum shield, there were complaints that it was very glaring… From backstage, the volume of the string quartet was reasonable, but after the concert we had complaints from people that it was too soft…

We went up on stage again to clear up after the strings, and we were supposed to be given 5 minutes, but guess how much time we were given? about 30 seconds! Impossible! Well, at least it still worked out in the end…thank God..

The concert was supposed to finish at 10.30pm, so guess what time it finished? 11.30!! Luckily, the next day would be sunday.. Got home, took bath, and went to sleep…

The next day I couldn’t wake up for church….my mom had to wake me up…anyway when the message started, the mic kept on feeding back, so I went upstairs to help with ‘feedback detection’, and it worked… it was feeding back at 620Hz and 1.2KHz…

After church I went back home and quickly got ready for my orchestra concert… I took the LRT and reached KLCC at 1pm, half an hour late!! The whole orchestra was waiting for me! Embarrasing, there were a few hundred people looking…. crying. At least it went fine. I could hardly hear anything from where I was seated (at the piano), and the sound system fed back A LOT… but people still clapped, anyway…so…what else?

I managed to get a break between getting back from KLCC and going to church… yeah, I left for church at 4.50 and when I got to church there was no one there!! So I went to buy dinner for myself then when I got back, at least they had gotten there already… So it was the same thing as the day before (I’m lazy to type at the moment)… except different bands…at least we didn’t have to move the keyboard this time…

Yeah, so again it ended late…11.30.. And I got back…..went to sleep

And had bio test today crying
